Eyes Care...

Posted by Nikhil Agarwal in ,

During a recent visit to an optician, one of my friends was told of an exercise for the eyes by a specialist doctor that he termed as 20-20-20 ." It is apt for all of us, who spend long hours at our desks, looking at the computer screen.
I Thought I'd share it with you. 20-20-20

Step I :-

After every 20 minutes of looking into the computer screen, turn your head and try to look at any object placed at least 20 feet away. This
changes the focal length of your eyes, a must-do for the tired eyes.

Step II :-

Try and blink your eyes for 20 times in succession, to moisten them.

Step III :-

Time permitting of course, one should walk 20 paces after every 20 minutes of sitting in one particular posture. Helps blood circulation for the entire body.

Circulate among your friends if you care for them and their eyes. They say that your eyes r mirror of your soul, so do take care of them, they are priceless... ...

Otherwise our eye would be like this.....

Internet Driven Frauds...

A Phisher gets hold of your email id with your password. Then he opens your mail account and composes a mail as if you are writing and mails to all your contacts. It will read as if your are stuck in a in a remote location and without money and require money urgently. The mail will request the contacts to deposit a sum in a particular bank account. If your email friend is wise enough, he will contact you by phone. Even if a few of gullible friends deposit the money 'You' have requested in 'your' account, the phisher has profited from your friends.

Possible routes to give aways of your passwords etc., are cyber cafes

It is dangerous to open email accounts and or make money transfers or make purchase of various merchandises or tickets in cyber cafes. Some of these cyber cafe operators load a invisible program which secretly record all your keyboard strokes and names of the sites visited by you. This program will give away all your critical data like email address with password, Credit or Debit card no with PI Nnumber.

Life B4 Computers...

An application was for employment
A program was a TV show
And a keyboard was on a piano!
Memory was something that you lost with age
A hard drive was a trip on the road
Cutting, you did with a pocket knife,
Pasting, you did with glue.
The Web was where a spider lived
And a virus was the flu!

  • Google Chrome will use special tabs.
  • The browser has an address bar with auto-completion features.
  • As a default homepage Chrome presents you with a kind of “speed dial” feature, similar to the one of Opera.
  • Chrome has a privacy mode; Google says you can create an “incognito” window “and nothing that occurs in that window is ever logged on your computer.”
  • Web applications can be launched in their own browser window without address bar and tool bar.
  • To fight malware and phishing attempts, Chrome is constantly downloading lists of harmful sites.

Boys Vrs Girls...

Posted by Nikhil Agarwal in ,

Girls and Windows

Both have a great UI.
Both consume large resources and do less work.
Both crash unexpectedly.
Both are not easily portable on different architectures (environment).
Both can't work on low resource architectures (environment)
Both are costly to maintain.
Both give mostly unexpected outputs.
Boths working often contradicts with their documentation.
Both are easily prone to viruses (rumors and doubts) (and they (viruses) do spread very fast in windows based networks).
In spite of all above disadvantages, both are liked

Boys and Linux

Both have an average UI.
Both are robust.
Both are highly secure.
Both can be easily modified to support new concepts/features.
Both are highly efficient.
Both are easily portable to any architecture (environment) no matter how low are resources.
You can easily guess the output for your input (in Linux just open its code, for boys they are mostly transparent by nature).
Both provide large support for development (work environment).
Both are poorly documented

Computers Never Have A "B" Drive???

Posted by Nikhil Agarwal in ,

The answer goes back to the glory days of floppy discs and DOS. The early DOS operating system designated two drives, A and B, strictly for floppy drives. Why? Because many early computers didn't have native hard drives -- they booted from Drive A, and ran applications from Drive B.Later, as computers came with hard drives, the second floppy drive became a useless appendage -- the computer equivalent of an appendix. To avoid confusion during the evolutionary window when computers with new hard drives coexisted beside computers with two floppies, the hard drives were given the "C" slot. Technically speaking, the "computer" isn't missing the B drive, it's just that later Microsoft operating systems have omitted it as unnecessary.

LOVE SONG BY A SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Kal jab mile thhe...
to dil mein hua ek sound.
Aur aaj mile to kehte hain...
your FILE NOT FOUND!

Jo muddat se hota aaya hai,
woh repeat kar doonga...
Tu naa mili to apni zindagi
CTRL+ALT+ DEL kar doonga...

Shayad mere pyar ko
taste karna bhool gaye...
Dil sey aisa CUT kiya
ke PASTE karna bhool gaye....

Laakhon honge nigaah mein
kabhi mujhe bhi pick karo...
Mere pyaar ke icon pe
kabhi to DOUBLE CLICK karo...

Roz subha hum karte hain
pyar se unhe good morning...
Woh aise ghoor ke dekti hain
jaise 0 ERRORS aur 5 WARNING...

Aisa bhi nahin hai ke
I don't like your face.
Par dil ke storage mein
No more DISK SPACE.

Ghar se jab tum nikale
pehen ke reshmi gown.
Jaane kitne dilon ka
ho gaya SERVER DOWN
